Dr Tony Huynh MBBS FRACP PhD

Dr Tony Huynh is a consultant paediatrician with subspeciality qualifications in Paediatric Endocrinology.  He is available for consultations at The Mater Medical Centre. Dr Huynh accepts referrals for all paediatric endocrine issues from babies to adolescents. He has a special interest in general paediatric issues involving: children with special needs, neurological conditions, inborn errors of metabolism, and genetic syndromes. Dr Huynh works with Rebecca Hamon, registered nurse and credentialed diabetes educator.  Together they offer comprehensive management of children and adolescents on either insulin pump therapy or multiple injection therapy.  Services include insulin pump starts, insulin pump upgrades and continuous glucose monitoring.  This service has been developed to complement the diabetes care content currently provided at the Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital. About Dr Huynh: Dr Huynh did his bachelor degree at the University of Queensland and completed his paediatric training at The Mater Children’s Hospital. He then worked as a Staff Specialist Paediatrician / Paediatric Endocrinologist at The Canberra Hospital between 2009-2014.  During this time he completed his PhD at ANU spending most of his research time at the Center for Genetic Medicine Research at The Children’s National Medical Center in Washington DC, USA. In addition, to BPEDS he has a part-time staff specialist position at the Lady Cilento Childrens Hospital  and is currently undertaking Chemical Pathology training at Mater Pathology.
